The University of Liberia (UL) family will accord its last respects to the late Assistant Professor Danny Goe today June 12 at 4:00 p.m. in the university auditorium on Capitol Hill in Monrovia.
Mr. Goe who died on May 10 at a hospital in Paynesville following a period of illness, was described as a dedicated servant of the University for several years, a release from the UL has said.
The late Goe joined the UL as Bookstore Officer in 1988 shortly after he graduated from Cuttington University where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry. He rose to the rank of Assistant Professor.
In 1989, he was awarded a foreign scholarship to study at the Oklahoma State University where he earned a Master’s Degree in Technical Education.
He was employed as an instructor in the William V.S. Tubman Teachers College in 2010.
On August 2, 2011, because of his remarkable performance, he was promoted to the position of Acting Assistant Dean of Programs and Acting Director of Sports, Starz-Sinje, Technical and Vocational College of the university.
Following a one hour vigil in the UL auditorium Mr. Goe’s remains will be taken to the S. Trowen Nagbe United Methodist Church in Sinkor for a night of wake keeping.
On Saturday, June 13, 2015, funeral services will take place at the same Church and thereafter, the body will be interred at the First Baptist Church Cemetery in Oldest Congo Town.
