Reliable sources have confirmed that former interim president of Liberia, Charles Gyude Bryant, has passed away at the John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital, and his body deposited at the Samuel A. Stryker Funeral Parlour. Unconfirmed sources say he suffered heart failure and was rushed to the JFK Medical Center, here he was pronounced dead on arrival. It is a known fact that Mr. Bryant had a heart condition during his latter years.
He was 65 and leaves to mourn his loss three children, his sister Mrs. Carmenia Abdallah and a host of relatives in Liberia and abroad.
Bryant was born January 17, 1949.
The deceased came to political prominence on October 14, 2003 when he assumed the chairmanship of the National Transitional Government of Liberia, which position he held until democratic elections were held and President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf took office in January 2006.
More to follow as news unfolds and funeral arrangements are announced.
