After a series of consultations in the United States and Africa, Miss Liberia, Wokie Dolo, has departed Liberia for Johannesburg, South Africa to represent the country in the Miss Africa Continent Pageant which will be held from August 22 to September 4.
A press release issued in Monrovia said the pageant is expected to bring together beauty queens from all over Africa to compete for the prestigious crown.
Miss Dolo said she feels excited and honored to represent Liberia at such an event and hopes to bring pride to the nation.
The Liberian beauty queen since her coronation in late January has been invited by her counterparts in Uganda and Ghana to participate in several charitable events which she successfully accomplished.
She was featured as special guest for the 2017 RunWay Liberia event in Baltimore, Maryland in the United States and served as a motivational speaker at the Empire Beauty School in Manhattan in New York. Her tour was climaxed by an Independence Day celebration in (LAOWC) Worcester County.
Accompanying Dolo to South Africa is a four person delegation. Meanwhile she has expressed appreciation to the managements of the National Housing Authority, Liberia Telecommunications Authority, the Vice President of Liberia, the Senate Pro-Temp, the Speaker of the House and her many fans and the Liberian people for their continuous support, the release added.
