The chief executive officer of Security Expert Guard Agency of Liberia (SEGAL), Momo Cyrus, has called for effective collaboration between public and private security in Liberia for the October elections.

Mr. Cyrus made the statement through a proxy at the dedication ceremony of the Singbeh Johnson Conference Hall, located on the premises of the Liberia Broadcasting System (LBS) in Paynesville.

He said collaboration is paramount in maintaining the peace the country now enjoys, which will be enhanced with an improved Public Private Partnership (PPP), he added.

Mr. Cyrus said in the wake of the October 10 elections, it is binding on every Liberian and most importantly the news media to send “violence free messages to the people.”

Mr. Cyrus said the huge number of candidates will confuse most of the people, especially first time voters, in trying to understand the attributes of a good leader to steer the affairs of the country.

He said it is no secret that President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf took over a failed nation in 2006, following years of civil unrest; and now that she is about to leave the scene, there is a great need to elect the right person to take over.

“I remind you workers at the LBS that you are under obligation to ensure that the transitional period is realized without reversing the gains the country has achieved for the past eleven years,” he said.

History, he said, has a lot to say about the late Singbeh Johnson, who served his country in various capacities including as the Director General of LBS, the Renaissance Communications, Inc. (Truth FM & Real TV), Power FM/TV as well as the defunct Liberian Communications Network (Kiss FM).

Additionally, Singbeh Johnson served the state as Assistant Director of Public Affairs at the Liberia National Police (LNP), Liberia Immigration Service (LIS) and as communications director at the Supreme Court of Liberia.
