UAE Delegation Arrives in Liberia Today for Bopolu 100-Bed Hospital Project

A high-powered United Arab Emirates (UAE) Government delegation will arrive in the Country on today Tuesday, January 19, 2021.

The delegation headed by Dr. Rajeev Mangottil, Project Director and Consultant, will participate in Groundbreaking Ceremony for the construction of a state-of-the-art Hospital in Bopolu, Gbarpolu County.

The Government of United Arab Emirates is fully funding the hospital project as a gift and goodwill gesture to Liberia in relation to bilateral ties subsisting between the two nations. 

According to Dr. Rajeev Mangottil, the construction of the health facility upholds humanitarian values and universal brotherhood cherished by the government of the United Arab Emirates and its commitment to the people of Liberia.
“This Bopolu Hospital project is part of the United Arab Emirates humanitarian agenda in making healthcare accessible to people living in rural regions of Liberia”, Dr. Mangottil noted.

The 52,000 Sq. Ft. modern facilities will have 100 bedrooms including urgent care department, diagnostic center, operation theater, mother and child department, NICU and intensive care compartment as well as internal and pulmonology department, among others.

Dr. Mangottil said it will take about 14 months to complete the construction of the hospital.
