The St. David’s Episcopal Church, in collaboration with the all-girls Bromley Mission Episcopal School Board based in Ashburn, Virginia, USA, Thursday, April 16, donated a consignment of modern textbooks and a brand new Ford van to the Bromley Episcopal Mission School (BEMS) located in Virginia, outside Monrovia.

The donation focused on disciplines such as Economics, History, and Geography; it also provided laboratory equipment and reading materials for the kids.

Making the presentation on behalf of the U.S. team, Madam Magdalene Johnson Obaji said, the St. David’s gesture was a personal way of contributing to the educational system of Episcopal Schools in post-war Liberia.

According to her, St. David’s has Bromley Mission at heart, and therefore, promised to contribute to the educational system through Tuesday’s donations and promised to do more.

“St. David’s Episcopal Church and Bromley’s team will never let you down,” she said, adding that the consignment would help students to improve with their studies.

“You students,” she said, “are the future leaders of this country and the world at large. Because of that, we will ensure that you acquire a better education,” Madam Obaji told students of BEMS.

For her part, Madam Esther H. Page, chairperson of BEMS Board, expressed her gratitude on behalf of the Board for the items, especially the vehicle, which she believes will help ease the burden of transportation for students and the mission’s staff.

Madam Page disclosed that the St. David’s Church and alumni of the institution in the Americas have been doing a lot to support Bromley for the past ten years, and “we must commend them for the generosity”

Earlier, Madam Page mentioned, among other things, that some of the benefits from their U.S. counterparts include the painting of the mission’s Julia C. Emery Hall.

At the presentation ceremony, the Bishop of the Episcopal Church of Liberia, the Rt. Rev Dr. Jonathan B.B. Hart, expressed gratitude to St. David’s for the gesture; he said it was a genuine way of contributing to all Episcopal Schools—but especially to the Bromley Mission.

Rev. Hart assured his partners that the donations would be used for their intended purposes.
