A Christian charity organization, Tree of Life (TOL) Ministries International, on Monday, November 28, distributed a consignment of food and non-food items to churches and individuals in Montserrado and Grand Bassa counties.
The supplies included sugar, beans, fruits, juices, and peanut butter. Others were candies, cornflakes, ocean spray, cookies, fish, corn beef, soap, copy books, pens, pencils, clothes, shoes, and slippers.
TOL Project Manager for Liberia Alfred L.M. Gezaye, who presented the supplies at the entity’s guesthouse in Boys Town, Margibi County, said the supplies were donated as his organization’s way of reaching out and meeting the physical needs of members of those churches.
“After taking care of the spiritual needs of our members, we’ve come to take care of their physical needs. It is in this spirit that we are presenting these items today since we are followers of Jesus Christ,” Gezaye told the recipients.
He said the supplies were intended to encourage members of beneficiary churches to love Jesus Christ as the giver and that Jesus Christ does everything for the best.
Mr. Gezaye said the supplies were made available by TOL and other individuals in the USA through the Executive Director, Dr. LaTonya T. McRae.
He urged the pastors to distribute the items in a way that their members will have a share as well.
In response, Pastor Robert S. Wilson of the Christ Redemptive Assembly thanked TOL for thinking about their individual members and meeting their physical needs.
Wilson promised to distribute the items at their various churches.
Churches that benefited from the TOL gesture are Headquarters Church of the Believers Inc., New Matadi Estate; Light House Baptist Church, Congo Town; Freedom in Christ Church of the Believers Inc., Buchanan, Grand Bassa County; and Frank Walker Evangelical Church Inc., Boys Town, Margibi County.
Others are Conqueror Christian Center Inc., Old Matadi Estate; Virginia Evangelical Christian Church; Faith in Christ Church of the Believers Inc., Zuba Town, Paynesville.
