LISCR FC coach Tapha Manneh is optimistic that his side can make a comeback in today’s game against USM Bel Abbes in the CAF Confederation Cup, despite a disturbing 4-0 loss in the first leg away to Algeria at February 24, 1956, Stadium.
The 4-0 result put USM Bel Abbes in a better position to secure their slot in the First Round of the competition. LISCR will need at least 5-0 if they should progress in the competition.
LISCR traveled to Algeria with the hope of collecting at least a draw, but things did not materialize. According to coach Manneh, he went with a defensive formation but later opened up to get a consolation goal, which resulted in his opponents increasing their goals through counter attacks.
However, Tapha Manneh remains defiant in the face of adversity and has insisted in a pre-match press conference on Tuesday, December 4, 2018, that his players can turn things around in today’s game.
“There is nothing impossible in football, it is a difficult task to come from 4-0 down to win the game, but it is not impossible in football. Today’s game is going to be a different one and we are going to play with an attacking formation, but not forgetting our backline,” he
Coach Manneh had a major boost in his squad ahead of today’s game after midfielder Allen Njie and forward Sam Jackson returned from Injury. According to coach Manneh, the duo are fit and will form part of his team in today’s game.
“The team will be completely different this time around, we are going to make about four to five changes,” he said.
The match will kickoff at 2:00 PM at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium.
