MONROVIA, March 11, 2021: On Monday March 9, 2021, my attention was drawn to information released by Talk Show Host Mr. Henry P. Costa, regarding my permanent recall as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Liberia to the Republic of France and Permanent Delegate to UNESCO.
While it’s true that I was recalled by the Government of Liberia on February 26, 2021, I would like to inform you that I have absolutely no connection to Mr. Henry P. Costa and his published information, most of which is a fabrication and misrepresentation of the facts. Mr. Costa mentioned the alleged detention of the First Lady Madam Clar M. Weah for 48 hours at the Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris and my having to leave Liberia to release her. These are false claims. I have had absolutely no contact with Mr. Henry P. Costa.
As you are aware, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, the Constitution provides that I work at the will and pleasure of the President of the Republic of Liberia. Having served my country as a diplomat for over two decades, I would like to take this opportunity to thank my colleagues at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in country and abroad, for their support.
I extend profound thanks and appreciation to His Excellency President George Manneh Weah, for the accorded opportunity to serve my country and his administration.
