In their quests to qualify for the second division of the Liberia Football Association league, Montserrado trio Samira FC, Muscat FC and Pepper FC will tomorrow begin their journey in the regional playoff in Bomi County. Due to the absence of Gbapolu the three will be joined by Freeport FC, Page FC and Jr. Pro FC who are all paired in Group as Montserrado County representatives. Samira, Muscat and Pepper FC were paired along with Junior Barcelona and Medina FC of Bomi and Cape Mount counties, respectively in Group A. Each team will play five matches, after which the top two teams from the two groups will qualify for the national playoff in Montserrado County.
In the national playoff, the four national regions will be represented by four clubs, summing up the total of 16 clubs that will be paired in a group of two or four that will advance to the last eight. Following the round of eight, four teams will qualify for the Semi-finals, where the top three will qualify for the second division of the national league.
Muscat will attempt to snap a streak of three straight points when they open their playoff campaign tomorrow against Pepper FC at 12 pm, while Samira FC will be looking to recover from their 6-2 defeat against ELWA United in the FA Cup semi-finals when they take on Junior Barcelona in at 2 pm. With such a huge task ahead, it is the hope of every club to secure promotion to the second division, but only three teams are going to advance to the top flight league.
