Downtown FC, NAS FC and Zion FC were during the weekend promoted to the 3rd division championship after respectively emerging as winners, runners-up and third place winners of the Montserrado community league. They received the accolades after being crowned champions of the LFA Community League at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium (ATS).

Downtown FC become champions of the playoffs after a comprehensive 3-0 victory over Nas FC at the ATS on Saturday. Having won their semifinal matches, both automatically qualified to the third division as the top two sides in the playoffs, but were eager for the playoffs championship.

Also on Saturday, Zion FC joined Downtown and NAS FC after a 3-0 victory over Saye Town based Cece United in the third place playoffs at the ATS. It was a crucial moment for both teams as they battled for the last slot of qualifying to the 3rd division.

Cece United, who were making their debut in the competition, failed to secure a victory in their last two matches of the competition. Cece United advanced to the playoffs after emerging as one of the best three clubs in the Central Monrovia community league.

The academy club still has an opportunity to win a trophy this season when they compete for the Central Monrovia Championship.
