The Sinkor Inter School Sports Association (SISSA) has merged with the most talked about school league in Liberia, the Inter School Sports Association (ISSA). The merger took place on Monday, November 19, 2018, during SISSA 2017/2018 league closing program held at the William V.S. Tubman High School campus on 12th Street, Sinkor.
The SISSA outgoing president Dyric Payway who is now the Secretary General of ISSA told journalists that he and other outgoing members of his association organized SISSA with the aim of helping to keep students in the Sinkor community alive in the sporting arena after observing ISSA league due to some setbacks the association was faced with.
Payway said, “After careful observation of the absence of ISSA league for two years, I called the attention of some friends and we organized a league that would include schools in the Sinkor community to keep the students active in the sporting arena.”
He paid tribute to all of his association’s members, sports directors of schools that participated in the league and others who stood by them during the two years’ existence of their association.
Payway called on his comrades to work hand in hand with ISSA as the association is about to kick-off her 2018/2019 league.
“With the vast experience you displayed during the past two seasons with SISSA, I am confident that you can do more under ISSA so I am appealing to you to keep on your good work,” he said.
Faith Mission Academy and LTESS won the association’s 2017/2018 Junior High School kickball and football titles individually while A.T. Warner and Len Millar were crowned champions for the league’s Senior High School kickball and football titles, respectively.
