Senator Dagoseh Wins TV AFRICA Award

Grand Cape Mount County Senator, Edward Dagoseh was among key African statesmen to win the 2015-2016 TV Africa Awards.
The award, a certificate of recognition, was presented to Senator Dagoseh on behalf of TV Africa by its representative Mr. Isaac Nketia at a brief ceremony held at Capitol Hill on Thursday.
Mr. Nketia said Senator Dagoseh’s preferment was based on an independent assessment of his activities over the years by TV Africa reporters covering the outbreak of the Ebola Virus Disease.
He disclosed that during the survey, it was proven that Senator Dagoseh played an important role in saving the lives of his people during the outbreak.
The television station correspondent further indicated that as a result TV Africa was left with no alternative but to consider him for the award intended for Africans who strive to make the continent a better place to live.
He pointed out that the award which coincided with TV Africa’s anniversary celebration was also awarded to several African statesmen including those in Ghana, Nigeria, and Sierra Leone.
Responding to the gesture, Senator Dagoseh lauded TV Africa for the recognition and said it would go a long way in helping to stimulate others to do their utmost for their people and the continent.
He stressed that the award would motivate him to intensify his humanitarian activities toward the eradication of poverty, support for education and the improvement of health care delivery system throughout in Liberia.
Senator Dagoseh was among many Liberians who used their personal resources, to step up the fight against Ebola through the provision of logistical support to hospitals and Ebola Treatment Units.
The Senator donated a Land Cruiser Jeep for use to convey patients to treatment units at the remote Cape Mount District of Porkpa.
He also made available over five hundred buckets, one thousand cartons of soap and several liters of sanitizers for distribution to rural communities in the county as well as making frequent visitations to areas in the county, despite the risks associated with it.
Prior to the outbreak of Ebola, Senator Edward Dagoseh was engaged in the implementation of sustainable development projects to improve the living standard of people in his county including the rehabilitation of roads, linking Jenewunde and the District Headquarters of Bambala in Porkpa District, as well as the construction of health centers and schools to beef up education and health care delivery throughout Cape Mount.
Senator Edward Dagoseh was a University Professor, when he was requested by citizens to run for the county Senatorial seat in 2011. He presently chairs the Senate Committee on Ways, Means and Finance.
