The funeral rites of late Sinoe County District #2 Representative, Jay Nagbe Sloh, which was scheduled to begin Wednesday with a two-day signing of the Book of Condolence, has been postponed.

The Daily Observer has gathered from the Press Director of the House of Representatives that the postponement is as a result of the absence of Mrs. Ruth D. Sloh, the legal widow of Rep. Sloh, who has yet to arrive in the country.

The Daily Observer has also gathered that up to press time, Mrs. Sloh is still in the USA waiting to see which flight will be flying to Liberia that she can book.

The House’s Press Director, Isaac G. Redd, Sr, wrote on his Facebook page: “Signing of the Book of Condolence of the late Rep. Jaybloh Nagbe Sloh slated for today has been postponed. A new date will be announced later.”

Representative Sloh died at the John F. Kennedy memorial hospital on Tuesday, June 30, 2020.

Meanwhile, the deferred funeral itinerary were to begin with a two-day signing of the book of condolence from Wednesday to Thursday, August 12 -13, 2020.

Inside sources are now suggesting that the itinerary, which will remain in the same order, has been postponed to the following week, beginning Wednesday, August August 19 at 10 a.m., when President George M. Weah will sign the book of condolence, followed by Vice President Jewel Howard -Taylor and members of the Senate; and the Speaker and members of the House of Representatives.  Next will be the Chief Justice and Associate Justices of the Supreme Court, as well as the former President, former Vice President and the First lady, and members of the diplomatic corps among others. This will be followed by the clergy on Thursday, August 20.

On Friday, August 21, the mortal remains of the late Rep. Sloh will be taken from the Samuel Stryker Funeral Home at 1 p.m. to ‘lie in state’ in the rotunda of the Capitol Building at 3 p.m. followed by a night of wake keeping at the First Assembly Church of God from 5 p.m. – 11 p.m.

Funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, August 15, beginning at 10 a.m, and interment will follow at a cemetery in Brewerville.

It may be recalled there was a squabble over ownership of Rep. Sloh’s remains as two women came forward to take possession of the body; something that led to the issuance of an injunction before Judge Kennedy Peabody of the Sixth Judicial Circuit Court

The writ, filed by Ruth D. Sloh, restrained Kou Kidan Boyoe and accomplices from proceeding with funeral activities over the remains of the fallen lawmaker until the court declares who the legitimate widow is.

Madam Boyoe, the mother of two of Rep. Sloh’s children, reluctantly abandoned the challenge, conceding to Mrs. Sloh, the legal widow of Rep. Sloh and mother of his four elder children.

  1. Had the airport not been closed to international travel at the time that this loud mouth law make fell ill, he would had been flown out at tax payers’ expanse; as he had once boasted that his wife works at one of the best hospitals in the US.
Thanks to Covid-19, the healthcare playing field is becoming level, because countries with advance medical facilities are all closed to outsiders, as these facilities are struggling to take of their own, so our good for nothing corrupt government officials can only fly to Accra, Ghana to be treated. The funeral of this foul mouth law maker has been held up, because he tried to live like a paramount chief, with a wife in the US and another wife in Liberia, what a double life for an educated man, but I pray that the our Lord have mercy on him for his soul to rest in peace perpetual.

    • 🤣🤣🤣 who’s the loud mouth now, bashing a man that is no more. There’s no wife in Liberia. Chey Liberian people, your speak as if it cost to read, Liberian reporters are misleading you all with he said she said and just like that it’s become law in your mouths. Kau Sloh is not in the US. She’s the wife he continuously boasted about and you DAMN right if he was here in the US he would have gotten adequate treatment.Death does not discriminate, we will all die and that’s just how someone will bash you in your demise.

This case just exposed the type of government we have, a PETTY, I can’t even find an intelligent word to describe the government. Because they dislike him so they joined a US based Bigamist Ruth Doe to disgrace this man. The very same Ruth that has been enjoying another dick for years now who’s claiming a dead man as her husband while married to another all because the late honorable brother told her family in LIB that honorable has property. Since her so called husband died, have your asked yourselves, why Ruth has not traveled, it’s not because of COVID. Let me answer that question for your, documentation and her current husband/dick/ lover in the US.

  2. There you go making a big fool of yourself. No body is bashing this man, but most of you don’t like to hear the facts. Mrs. Ruth Sloah is the legal married wife of the fallen law maker; Kou made a fool of herself, by agreeing to be married to this man traditionally. So after Mrs. Ruth filed an injunction with prove of their marriage, the courts sided with her.
For your information, if you are married to anybody, and get separated does not automatically render the vow that you took void, you have to go a competent court of law and file a former divorce, and the court will adjudicate, and resolved the marriage legally, But you can’t just get separated from your legal married wife and go and get marry to another woman by paying traditional bride price and assume that you are divorce from the first wife, as in the case of the late law maker.
You are a coward, or else you would put your name to this comment that you are making, and insulting Mrs. Sloah, and I dare you to show yourself ,if you are a man or woman, and see if Ruth don’t take you to court to prove that she has had any other man beside her late husband, Honorable Sloah.
The challenge is out there for you to show who you are by your name and email address, but I know you will not, because you are a coward
