Rep. Joe Provides 34-seater Bus for Grand Bassa Students

Grand Bassa County District#3 Representative, Matthew Joe, has provided a 34-seater Mitsubishi bus to the district development council for use by the students’ community in the County.

Rep. Joe said the donation of the bus was precipitated by a request made by the students in his district.  The bus was one of a series of promises the Representative reportedly made during the campaign period and said he would donate a bus to the students in the first 90 days of his tenure.

In a related development, Rep. Joe has inducted into office officials of the District Development Council, which is to begin work immediately.

Receiving the bus on behalf of the students, the chairman of the DDC, Christopher Neville, promised that it would be used for the intended purpose. He said the bus would be used to take students commuting to and from school every day.

The DDC comprises of nine members, each of whom serves a two-year term.

The program was attended by members of the Bassa Legislative Caucus, leadership of the local authorities, representatives of concession companies, and members of the business community.

Meanwhile, Rep. Joe has reassured his supporters that he will shortly pave the stretch of road to the fairground in Buchanan, to be followed by the government hospital road, and several others roads in the district before his tenure expires in 2023.
