President Sirleaf Salutes Ireland on St. Patrick’s Day


President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has sent a message of congratulations to the government and people of the Republic of Ireland on the observance of St. Patrick’s Day today.

St. Patrick’s Day, or the Feast of St. Patrick, is a cultural and religious celebration held on March 17, the date of the death of St. Patrick, the foremost patron saint of Ireland.

In her message to her Irish counterpart, President Sirleaf expressed on behalf of the Government and people of Liberia and in her own name, deep satisfaction that Liberia’s relations with Ireland continues to be marked by cordiality and genuine progress.

She wished her counterpart continued good health and happiness, and for the Government and people of Ireland, sustained peace and prosperity.
