Deputy Police Director for Administration, William K. Mulbah, has assured the general public that the Liberia National Police (LNP) will intensify its community outreach program to inform residents of the importance of the police-community relationship.
Mr. Mulbah said the community outreach program is meant to educate citizens on their responsibilities to the
LNP and community members as well as to what the police should expect from the community relative to information sharing.
Mulbah made the statement yesterday when he received two out of the 20 buses recently donated to the Monrovia City Corporation (MCC) by the Government of Turkey through the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM).
He said it was significant for both the community and the police to forge partnership in the fight against crime in the wake of the United Nations Mission in Liberia (UNMIL) drawdown by next year.
A crime-free society, he said, is needed to encourage
business people to bring investment into the country, which would eventually complement the efforts of the government in addressing its many problems.
Mulbah then acknowledged efforts exerted by Monrovia City Mayor Clara Doe Mvogo for lobbying with the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality of Turkey for the busses.
He promised that the two donated buses are to enhance officers’ movement. As such, he promised that the buses will be used for their intended purposes.
