Ahead of its 20th-anniversary celebration, Philadelphia Lone Star has unveiled a commemorative club crest and launched its Hummel home and away kits for the celebration.
The new crest will now be used across the club’s official website, social media platforms, and all commercial activities marking the 20-year anniversary until the end of the 2021 calendar year.
The club is expected to celebrate its 20th anniversary on Saturday, August 14, when a season of special activities (including an invitational tournament and 2020-21 season awards) will be held to mark this milestone in the Stars history.
The dates of the anniversary and the ’20 Years’ were applied to the club’s existing crest. After the unveiling of the new crest, the club on April 15 and 16 released its newly launched home and away kits which the Stars will wear in their inaugural season in the USL League Two and second season in the WPSL.
The 20th Anniversary kits have a modern classic look with a nod to our glorious past. Both kits are made from branded Beecool fabrics that are light and breathable.
Features of the Kits:
- Striped collar insert in red, white, navy
- Subtle pattern featuring the Liberian Star and Stripes of the Liberian Flag as a nod to the club heritage as well as the Liberty Bell and Icons from Philadelphia Skyline as a nod to the City of Brotherly Love.
- Club Founding and Star print on the neck
- League Logo on Jersey Numbers
The front of the kits has a striped collar insert the kits have a subtle pattern featuring the Liberian Star and Stripes of the Liberian Flag as a nod to the club heritage as well as the Liberty Bell and Icons from Philadelphia Skyline as a nod to the City of Brotherly Love.
The home kit is white, with a navy trim added to the bottom of the sleeves and the sides. The collar is red with red Hummel Chevron on the shoulders. It will be complemented with white shorts and white socks.
The away kit is navy, with a white trim added to the bottom of the sleeves and red stripes on the sides. The collar is white with white Hummel Chevron on the shoulders. It will be complemented with navy shorts and navy socks.
The kits bear the cub’s Commemorative 20th Anniversary logo and the logo of its new Official Technical Partner, Hummel who are set to produce kit and training wear for our men’s, women’s and Academy Teams until 2023.
The men’s and women’s kits will also carry the branding of the new Principal Partner, TickPick, for the first time.
In another development, Philadelphia Lone Star will have an academy squad competing in the U17 Boys age in the 2021 Academy Cup. The Stars Academy team is among 74 teams that will be competing in the competition.
The cup competition will see academy teams from clubs in all three senior divisions of the USL represented, with clubs from the Championship, League One, and League Two as well as representation from MLS clubs all competing against one another to represent a growing footprint that reaches 22 states across the country.
The events will be designed to better identify and accelerate the development of elite youth players with the potential to reach the professional ranks.
