The management of the Peace Building Office at the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has been strengthened with the appointment of a new Executive Director.
A vetting committee which comprised of experts in the field of peacebuilding and conflict resolution, and other technical experts selected Mr. Edward K. Mulbah as the new Executive Director of the entity, a press release from the Ministry of Internal Affairs said.
The committee in its letter to the Board said its decision to select Mr. Mulbah comes from the background of his long term experience in working in the Peace Building Office, coupled with his exceptional performance during the screening processes.
The committee said Mr. Mulbah’s deep sense of commitment, dedication and professionalism and his strong leadership ability made him the best candidate to lead the Peace Building Office of Liberia.
The Executive Director of the Peace Building Office, under the direct supervision of the Deputy Minister for Administration of MIA, is responsible to provide strategic and policy level support to the government on peace building policy and reconciliation.
Mr. Mulbah thanked the Board and the leadership of MIA for his appointment and promised to execute the duties and responsibilities assigned to the position. He promised his leadership will provide support to the government of Liberia and the peace building committee regarding the implementation of the second generation of the Statement of Mutual Commitments (SMC).
