This prize, awarded by Orange, rewards innovative projects using Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) to improve the living conditions of people in Africa and the Middle East in fields such as education, healthcare, farming, mobile payments or sustainable development.

The competition will start with a national phase, during which each participating Orange Africa and the Middle East subsidiaries will assess the projects submitted in its country and select 3 winners where Orange Liberia will provide additional prizes for the winning applicants in Liberia: The Liberian based first prize finalist will receive US$3,000, second prize finalist will receive US$2,000 and the third finalist will receive US$1,500.

The fourth prize of US$500 will be provided to the Liberian entry that wins the online popular vote. There is also the fifth prize of US$400 to reward the project that best promotes women. All Liberian finalists will receive their prize money from Orange Money.

This national award will be followed by an international phase, during which all national winners will compete before an international jury which will present the Orange Social Venture Prize grand prize to the three final winners at AfricaCom in November.

Like every year, in addition to the national prizes, finalists have the opportunity to win respectively € 25,000, € 15,000 and € 10,000 from the international jury.

Orange Liberia is proud to announce that a winner from Liberia took 2nd place in 2019 and another Liberian took 3rd place in 2020 winning € 15,000 and € 10,000 respectively in the International Prize.
