An emotionally-charged Liberian Senate in executive session yesterday reportedly gave their blessings for their colleague, Grand Gedeh Senior Senator Isaac Nyenabo, to represent Liberia as Ambassador to Brussels and the European Union (EU).

Senator Nyenabo served the Liberian Senate for nine years as Senator, and briefly as Senate Pro Tempore before he was voted out by his colleagues.

“I am presently filled with excitement; please allow me time to prepare and address the entire membership of the Legislative press corps by Thursday,” Amb. Nyenabo told our reporter.

Known as the “four-pointer,” Isaac as Senator was respected among his colleagues and Journalists for his vast knowledge on both the Constitution and Rules of the Senate which he was always prepared to quote verbatim.

During his recent confirmation hearing, then Ambassador-designate Nyenabo promised to work hard to ensure that Liberia’s image within the European Union is enhanced, saying he is ever prepared to make the necessary strong representation the country needs.

Amb.  Nyenabo, who is presently working on his Doctorate degree, is a proud holder of several credentials in professional and academic disciplines. From Cuttington University Graduate School of Professional Studies, he received the Master of Public Administration (MPA) in Public Sector Management Summa cum Laude, (2010-2012) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) – Magna cum Laude in Finance, (2009-2011).  From the University of Liberia’s Ibrahim Babangida School of International Relations, he received the Master of Arts (MA) – Summa cum Laude in International Relations & Diplomacy (2008 –2010).

During the National Transitional Government of Liberia (NTGL), outgoing Senator Nyenabo served as Comptroller at the Ministry of Finance.

As an ardent sports lover, he led the Invincible Eleven/Majestic Sports Association as interim president.

In a related development, the Senate at its 86th day sitting yesterday confirmed several nominees who recently appeared before Senate committees; among them, Mr. Augustine K. Blama, Assistant Minister for Budget, Ministry of Finance & Development Planning, and Jordan Solunteh, Director General of the Cabinet, among others.
