NPA Conducts Seminar for Vehicle Operators

A week long Seminar for motor vehicle operators and transport service providers to the National Port Authority (NPA) is underway in Monrovia.
The seminar, which is being jointly organized by the Training and Transport Departments of the NPA is a ‘routine’ capacity building initiative to further improve the skills of the participants.
Key topics, including defensive driving, rules of the road, and traffic signs are being taught at the seminar, with Maj. Fred M. Gaye of the Liberia National Police (LNP) serving as chief facilitator.
Deputy Managing Director for Administration at NPA, Nyekeh Y. Forkpa, who spoke at the opening ceremony, reaffirmed the management’s commitment to building the capacity of the workforce and the drivers, who he considers essential to the operation of port.
Mr. Forkpa said the seminar is a part of several other capacity-building programs which are critical for human resource development in order to ensure efficiency on the job.
He urged them to always apply the knowledge they have acquired with logic while executing their functions.
