A Nissan Pathfinder, with license plate number REP 29 last night dragged an unidentified commercial motorcyclist across ELWA Junction and climbed a side fence, sending street vendors running for dear life.

“It came from the junction,” explained a young lady who said she was scrapped by the Nissan and had injuries on her arm and legs. “It threw me behind the wall. I lost my market,” she said, shocked and breathless, as friends and another lady who she said was her sister, comforted her.

She said the Nissan dragged the motorcyclist across the road. “I could see lots of blood on his face,” she told the Daily Observer last night at the accident scene, twenty minutes later.

She said three seriously injured persons, including the motorcyclist, were transported to hospital though she did not know the hospital the victims were rushed to for treatment. It was learned that the motorcyclist’s bike had been picked up by officers of the Liberia National Police at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex.

At the time of our reporter’s visit, the maroon Pathfinder, with its license plate indicating that it belongs to a member of the House of Representatives, still hung over the low fence with street vendors and others milling around.

The Daily Observer could not get confirmation of the hospital where the victims were rushed to for treatment and there was no report of any death. It was also gathered that four vehicles, along with the motorbike were involved, but at the time of our reporter’s arrival, only the Nissan Path Finder was still at the scene.

In another accident last Saturday in Congo Town, near the former Suzanne Berry School, the left front tire on the driver’s side of a 4Runner Toyota, jumped out and plunged three other vehicles into an accident that left a woman bleeding from her left eye and one vehicle crashed through a house that fortunately did not have residents near the crash scene. The Toyota 4Runner with license plate number PC05281 was driven by an officer of the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA).
The injured woman bleeding from her eye, was placed on a motorbike and rushed to either the St. Joseph’s Hospital or JFK Medical Center, witnesses said.

The other vehicles in Saturday’s accident included a taxi with license plate number TX9371, a Lincoln Ford with plate number BB916 (which crashed into a house) and a private 4-door Toyota Corolla with license plate number A21320.
