In line with preaching the gospel of Christ and caring for the destitute, the New Apostolic Church (ANC) in Liberia recently distributed food and assorted items to three orphanages in Bong County, Central Liberia.
Salala, Totota and Gbartala orphanages were the three institutions that benefited from the church’s humanitarian gesture.
Items distributed included rice, cooking oil and cartons of bath and washing soap.
In separate presentations, Apostle Alexander Wreh explained to the beneficiaries that the items were a contribution from the Jorg Wolf Foundation (JWF), a German-based entity, as its way of identifying with underprivileged people throughout the world.
He said his church and the German foundation will not stop extending alms to the poor and the needy in society.
The foundation, Wreh said, for over three years through the church has been identifying with the needy, making specific reference to underprivileged children.
He reminded the homes about their annual donation to orphanages throughout the country, naming Grand Bassa, Margibi, Nimba, Montserrado and Bong counties as some of the counties where people have earlier benefited.
Madam Selver Kollie, who received the items on behalf of the Totota Orphanage Home, lauded the church and the foundation for the donation. She assured them that the items would be used for the intended purpose.
Madam appealed to other churches and humanitarian organizations to learn from the goodwill of NAC and JWF.
Jorg Wolff Foundation is a German based non-governmental organization in Stuttgart, Germany, supporting development projects and combating war, hunger and disease, especially in West Africa.
