The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has given a three-day ultimatum to those operating Poro and Sande bushes in Liberia to dissolve them with immediate effect.

A strongly worded statement quotes the MIA Minister Morris Dukuly as saying that failure to have any grove closed by the deadline will leave the Ministry with no  alternative but to work with the National Council of Chiefs and Elders take appropriate actions.

The Ministry said its decision is intended to ensure that there is no outbreak of the Ebola virus Disease in any Poro or Sande grove in Liberia.

The Ministry is also warning facilitators of Poro and Sande activities to stop those activities immediately.
