Medical Doctor Eyes Gbarpolu County Rep. Seat

The Director of the Malaria Program of the Lutheran Church in Liberia (LCL), Dr. Morris Harris, has said that come 2017 elections he will contest for a seat in the House of Representatives for Electoral District No. 2 in Gbarpolu County.

Dr. Harris served as Resident Director of the Phoebe Hospital in Bong County before heading the LCL’s Malaria Program.

He said he has been offering free medical treatment, including surgical eye outreach to over 1,000 persons in the Electoral District #2 in Gbarpolu County.

Dr. Harris said he has also been engaged in a mobile clinic outreach over the years and has recently erected the Gbarpolu Community Clinic (GCC) in Zelekai Town, Bukumu District, Gbarpolu County.

“The clinic is constructed and will soon be dedicated,” Dr. Harris said.

The Lutheran medical doctor said in an exclusive interview Monday that in the 3rd week of November, there will be another surgical outreach program for those suffering from hernia and several other conditions.

Dr. Harris is expected to contest against current Gbarpolu County Electoral District No 2 Representative Malai Gbogar.
