The body of an unidentified man believed to be in his 30s, was found early Wednesday morning in the Omega Red-Hill Community in Paynesville, outside Monrovia.
Wood seller Musa Kamara informed the Daily Observer yesterday morning that he found the body close to his center when he arrived for work, and explained that the discovery of the body in the area has alarmed residents.
Kamara has called on the Liberia National Police (LNP) and community leaders to remove the body.
Neighbors said the victim did not live in the community and suspect that his corpse was dumped there after his death.
Some residents said the discovery of the body has created fear among them, and called on the LNP to step up investigations to ascertain the man’s true identity and the cause of his death.
Meanwhile, a spokesman for the Omega Community Police Depot said investigations are continuing to identify the victim and cause of death.
