A 73-year old man identified as Alfred Xwaikai Gbar who resided in Samuel Gbar Town in District #3, in Grand Bassa County has reportedly been burned.
The younger brother of the deceased, Rev. Albert Gbar Samuels, Jr. made the disclosure on Tuesday, March 29, during in an exclusive interview with the Daily Observer in Buchanan.
Rev. Samuels revealed that the incident occurred on March 17, when Alfred and two other men identified as Joseph Jacobs and Janjay Horace went to burn their farm.
Rev. Samuels explained that while they were burning the farm which belonged to Jacobs was blazed and overcame them, but the two other men managed to escape, leaving his crippled brother in the middle of the fire.
He explained that all the crying and alarm raised by Alfred proved fruitless as no one could rescue him for fear that they too could get burn.
He mentioned that thereafter the people in the town sent for the victim’s family members in Buchanan who later buried what remained of his brother.
According to Rev. Samuels, the deceased leaves to mourn his widow Mardyupleh Gbar and an only son, Alfred X. Gbar, Jr. and other brothers, sisters, relatives and friends.
He meanwhile commended those who helped to bury the deceased as well as those who identified with them during their bereavement.
