The body of farmer Alexander Scott, believed to be in his 50s, was recently found floating in the Gbain Creek between Moses Yarbah and Zean Zoegar Towns in District #3, Grand Bassa County.
An elder of the area, Alexander Gardea, explained that Scott left home for a funeral in Moses Town, adding that Mr. Scott’s whereabouts could not be established after the burial, leading to residents from the two towns mounting a massive search to find him.
He said during the search, they discovered his body afloat in the Gbain Creek, with his clothes found beside the creek.
The elder said Scott’s body “had marks,” suggesting that he might have been murdered.
“We saw bruises on Scott’s body!” a resident added at the crime scene.
Another resident, a 2017 Representative hopeful for District #2, in an interview with the Daily Observer called on the government to provide protection for citizens of the district as the 2017 Presidential and Legislative Elections draw near.
He also recommended that the government should search for the perpetrator(s) by either conducting a full scale investigation or engaging native doctors to find the doers of the act.
Meanwhile, Scott’s remains were laid to rest in Zean Zeogar Town.
The deceased is survived by his widow Gbarko Scott, a number of children and a host of other relatives and friends.
