The Logan Town Oldtimers Sports Association, yesterday January 1, 2014 celebrated its 10th anniversary at the Conference Center sports pitch in Virginia, outside Monrovia.
The association also used the occasion to honor Mr. Mohammed Musason of Lipoil/PMS, a gas distributing company, and Senator Nyoblee Kangar Lawrence of District 15, Grand Bassa County.
Senator Armah Jallah of Gbarpolu County, who played in the center forward position during the football games, presented the two certificates to the honorees.
He spoke of LOSA’s appreciation for their services to develop its activities and encouraged interested ones to become part of the organization.
Responding, Lipoil’s executive director, Musason said he was delighted to celebrate the anniversary with LOSA and urged interested Liberians to join the organization and promised LD40, 000.00 to help LOSA.
Senator Nyoblee Lawrence, who pledged U$150, recalled the wonderful support she received from the organization to make her political dream a reality.
She said she is launching a new campaign to encourage Liberians to be positive and refrain from insults and abuses of Liberia and its leaders, by way of radio.
“Don’t use the media to make negative remarks about your country and its leaders,” Senator Lawrence said.
She commended LOSA for the honor and expressed appreciation for the positive contribution it’s activities are making on its members.
Contributing, Hon. William Daker of District 17, who also participated in the football games, donated a set of jersey to LOSA, and expressed appreciation for the celebration.
LOSA’s President (Senator) Adolf Lawrence expressed gratitude to Senator Jallah and Hon. Daker as well as his wife, Senator Lawrence for celebrating the occasion with them.
CAF Education Officer and Coaching Instructor, Francis Tamba gave a brief history of LOSA and newly appointed chairman Mohammed L. Sheriff presented the honorees to the body.
