In continuation of its corporate social responsibility, Lonestar Cell MTN through its Mobile Money department on Friday, December 21, 2018, made a donation to three organizations to ensure a bright and cheery festive period for the less fortunate.
The institutions that benefited from the company’s gesture include Love A Child Orphanage Home, the Francis Gaiskin Orphanage Home, and the Antoinette Tubman Cheshire Home.
At the Antoinette Tubman Cheshire Home, the company donated a range of goodwill items including food, toys, electronics, educational & sporting materials, generators and other goodies.
Beyond the donations, Lonestar Cell MTN will also brighten the faces of children at these institutions with a Christmas party.
It was characterized by entertainment from one of Liberia’s leading comedians known as Angel Michael.
The head of Lone Star Cell MTN Mobile Money, Atty. Massa Dennis, who led a delegation to the ceremonies, said the initiative was the company’s own way of giving back to society, especially the underprivileged during this festive season.
“This is a yearly event which has taken place since 2017 and we will continue to support people in need in 2019 and beyond, ” she said.
According to her, the donation has been an ongoing initiative by the Mobile Money Division of Lone Star Cell MTN.
“We stand with you and so we are here to celebrate with you ahead of this festive season. Thanks ever so much for taking care of people with special needs in our country,” said Atty. Dennis at the Antoinette Cheshire Home.
She said Lonestar cell MTN is passionate about making life brighter. To do this, “we are giving back and supporting those in need. This Christmas season, Lonestar Cell MTN Mobile Money department is supporting three organizations to ensure bright and cheering festive period for the less fortunate.”
She said being a responsible company, Lonestar Cell MTN endeavors to always live up to its corporate social responsibility as long as it continues to operate within the borders of Liberia.
“We are here today to spend the Christmas with our children, who are the future of this great nation. Our aim is to show you how we, as a company, care for everyone. Our operations cut across all limits,” Massa Dennis added.
Receiving the donated items on behalf of the disabled group, the Home Supervisor of the Antoinette Tubman Cheshire Home, Jonah Y. Dolakeh, thanked the company for the gesture.
“On behalf of the board of this center, we want to thank Lonestar Cell MTN for reaching out to us to give us some Christmas gifts. This is not the company’s first time of donating to us,” Mr. Dolakeh recalled.
Also at the Frances Gaskin and Love A Child orphanages, the Lonestar Cell MTN Mobile Money boss said the company’s visit at these missions was to appreciate and add a further boost to the missionaries’ work they have been doing for the Liberian kids.
