Head Coach Tapha Manneh and his boys will need something special in the return leg at home if they ought to qualify for the first round and the latter stages of the 2018/2019 CAF Confederation Cup.

LISCR were yesterday thrashed 4-0 in the first-leg of their CAF Confederation Cup game against USM Bel Abbes at the February 24, 1986 Stadium in Abbes, Algeria.

The host started well and utilized every chance that came their way and managed to take the lead in the 24th minute by converting from the penalty spot to end the first half 1-0 in their favor.

Coach Manneh made five changes in his previous starting squad that also suffered a disturbing 4-0 loss against Barrack Young Controllers in the FA Cup final on October 19, 2018, at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium.

Ashely Williams returned to the goalpost after helping the national team to secure a 1-0 win against Zimbabwe on November 18.

With the result at 1-0 after the first half break, Liberians back home expected the former First Division champions to come back stronger in the second half.

The host doubled the lead in the 76th minute through Mohamed Seguer, who completed his brace by netting the third goal in the 87th minute after a defensive error by LISCR.

LISCR tried to get a consolation goal by pulling bodies forward, but it became an advantage for the host team to increase their goal tally after using a counterattack to close things up with a 4-0 victory.

LISCR would have to defeat the Algerian side on a five-goal deficit during the return leg that is slated for December 5, 2018, at the ATS.

LISCR departed Monrovia on Saturday, November 24, and later transited in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, and Tunisia before arriving in Abbes on Sunday, November 25.
