Vice President Joseph N. Boakai has praised the Sudan Interior Mission (SIM) and ELWA for the level of support given the Government and people of Liberia during the critical days of the fight against the deadly Ebola virus disease.
Vice President Boakai said over the years, SIM-ELWA through its medical and religious programs served the people of Liberia very well and pointed out that the presence of SIM-ELWA will continue to cement the relationship between the Government and the SIM-ELWA, and that the Government of Liberia will continue to lend its support to the projects of the SIM-ELWA in the Country.
According to a release from the Office of the Vice President, he was speaking Monday when a three man delegation from the SIM-ELWA paid a courtesy call on him. The delegation included the Director of the SIM-ELWA, David Writebol, Deputy Director of the SIM-ELWA Joseph F. Wankollie and Nancy L.Writebol, an Ebola survivor who has returned to Liberia to continue with her work.
Speaking to the Vice President earlier, The Director of the SIM-ELWA, David Writebol said the task of responding to the ebola crisis in Liberia was a difficult one and that his organization will continue the traditional cooperation between it and the GOL, the release said.
