LFA Makes New Appointments

The Liberia Football Association has made several new appointments affecting the Secretary-General, Technical Director and Treasurer positions. In its sitting on Thursday, December 6, 2018, the Executive Committee appointed FIFA badge referee Isaac T. Z. Montgomery as the LFA’s new Secretary General.

Montgomery replace Emmanuel O. Deah who assumed the post in 2016 following the death of Alphonso Armah during the administration of Musa Bility.

Referee Montgomery, who officially started work on Monday, December 10, joined the Liberia Football Referees Association (LIFRA) in 2009 and later became a national referee. In 2013, he became a FIFA badged center referee. He holds a Master’s of Business Administration (MBA), a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), an Associate (AA) Degree in Accountancy, and a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Economics from the University of Liberia and Stella Maris Polytechnic respectively.

Meanwhile, the LFA Executive Committee has also confirmed the appointment of Henry Browne as Technical Director. Browne was appointed on December 3, after being out of the post for few months. He replaced Coach Francis Tamba who was serving as Acting Technical Director.

In another appointment, the LFA has appointed Joseph Sheriff as Acting Treasurer. The President of the LFA, Mustapha I. Raji, made the announcement on Monday, December 10 during an introductory meeting of the new LFA Secretary-General.

Mr. Sheriff has been working in the LFA accounts session as an Accountant for close to a decade. The announcement of Sheriff as Acting Treasurer was greeted with huge cheers by LFA Employees during Monday’s meeting.

A release from the LFA said Secretary General Montgomery welcomed the appointment of the new treasurer and assured him of a good working relationship.
