The management of the Liberia Electricity Corporation (LEC) announced that it has been made aware of unscrupulous individuals purporting to be employees of the corporation who are engaged in an unauthorized “LEC survey.”
In a press release issued yesterday, LEC said these individuals are phoning its customers under the pretense of conducting customer surveys.
The LEC statement said, “It should be noted that the LEC is not conducting any survey.
“The LEC has at no time authorized anyone to conduct a survey and customers are advised not to respond to anyone phoning them in the name of conducting a survey.”
The release described the action as fraudulent because the LEC management did not authorize it.
The LEC management advises customers to contact its Information and Public Affairs office located at Waterside or call 0886526440 or 0775992924 to obtain information regarding the LEC.
“The LEC wishes to use this medium to advise those involved in such fraudulent practice to desist immediately,” the statement warned.
“Failure on the part of those involved to desist will leave the LEC with no option but to have those individuals arrested and subsequently prosecuted in keeping with the laws of Liberia,” the release warned.
