The Liberia Chamber of Commerce (LCC) in partnership with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), part of the World Bank Group, has announced series of Corporate Governance awareness raising events and training sessions aimed at empowering LCC’s SME members.
The events also allow SMEs to identify and better articulate the benefits of corporate governance for their operations and performance by strengthening their governance framework.
These businesses will aid development programs in the private sector, according to a statement LCC issued Monday, November 26.
The first of these sessions, according to the statement, will cover Corporate Governance and Family Business Governance beginning Tuesday, December 4 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at a resort in Monrovia.
“SME Governance refers to the structures and processes for the direction and control of the business, which among other benefits, are effective governance practices to help businesses operate more efficiently, strengthen investors’ confidence, and further attracts capital, and improve their relationships with stakeholders,” the statement added.
According to the LCC, this conference will be opened to Small and Medium Enterprises operating in the country.
