South Africa-based Anthony Laffor will continue his football journey in the South African Premiership, joining Chippa United since he was released by his former club Mamelodi Sundowns.
Laffor officially bade farewell to Sundowns on December 4, 2020, after eight celebrated years at the club and had been a free agent.
His arrival at his new club, Chippa United, was announced on January 15, 2021.
The South African premiership side signed the 35-year-old until the end of the season with an option of renewing his stay for a further two seasons.
Chippa United FC is a South African professional football club based in Port Elizabeth in the Eastern Cape province, having previously been based in Nyanga, a suburb of the city of Cape Town. They are currently in the 12th position on the 16 teams league table.
Laffor had the opportunity to make his debut on Saturday, January 15, in his new team’s 1-0 win against TS Galaxy FC in the DSTV Premiership.
The celebrated Liberian forward started from the bench and was later introduced in the 51st minute.
He will wear 31 at his new club.
From the look of things, Laffor could be using the rest of the season to fully recover from a long time injury and later make a move to a bigger club.
