The Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC) on Friday, March 18, 2016 held a one-day Retreat for its Commissioners and Staff.
The Retreat which took place at a local resort in Congo Town was aimed at enhancing unity within the LACC. It provided the opportunity for Commissioners and Staff to freely express their minds on issues of concern at the LACC.
During the Retreat, key components of the Commission’s internal policy instruments were discussed, including Code of Conduct; Financial Processes; ICT Policy; Procurement Processes and Transportation Policy.
The Oversight Commissioner for Education & Prevention, Mrs. Aba Hamilton Dolo also spoke on other major aspects of the internal instruments with emphasis on “What does LACC mean to you; What does it need to improve and how; and Performance/Team Spirit”.
In his response to the concerns expressed by staff, LACC’s Executive Chairperson, Cllr. James N. Verdier, Jr. stressed the need for unity, noting that management will not give credence to individuals engaged in discrediting the LACC.
He urged staff to always feel free to approach him on their grievances if they are not addressed by their line supervisors. He admonished the Staff to be focused and work hard in transforming the Commission. “My desire is to professionalize the LACC in ways that it effectively delivers on its mandate,” he told the Staff, a press release said.
