The Africa CEO Forum has named humanitarian Karishma Pelham-Raad one of Africa’s most outstanding NGO founders by Jeune Afrique Media Group, organizer of the AFRICA CEO FORUM.
Karishma NGO, the HRH Foundation, has immensely served and continues to serve humanity to bring relief to many average Liberians. It caters to the needs of old folks, children, and others less fortunate in need of help.
Every year the AFRICA CEO forum AWARDS recognized companies and investors, and change-makers who are shaping the socio-economic growth of Africa in a given year. Since its founding, More than 250 companies, investors, and CEOs have been nominated over the last eight years, embodying the vitality of Africa’s economy.
This year, the “Africa’s 10 Most Outstanding NGO Founders” awards went to Ms. Raad, Nigeria superstar actress Tonto Dikeh, and a host of another top-rated African. “Karishma, like many of the honorees in this category, is contributing to the socio-economic development of Africa and deserves recognition. She and her colleagues are changemakers and people who are using their influence to better the lives of others,” the organizer said in response to an inquiry. “As one of Africa’s emerging humanitarian, her contributions to her home country are remarkable and impactful.”
Receiving the award in the celebrity-packed room, Ms. Radd said: “I am extremely overwhelmed and elated to receive this prestigious award today in Abuja, Nigeria, as one of AFRICA’S MOST OUTSTANDING NGO FOUNDERS.
“To me, this award belongs to everyone that sees it as an obligation to assist the underprivileged community and less fortunate sector within my country (Liberia) and the world at large,” she added.
According to Ms. Raad, the award serves as additional motivation for her, the foundation donors, supporters, and staff to continuously impact society positively. She further indicated that the HRH foundation remains committed to feeding the venerable children, providing scholarships, and giving hope to those who feel society has forgotten them, as well as a committee to find solutions to other pressing humanitarian situations in the country.
Ms. Raad, sparkling dressed to receive her award added that, “I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to the organizers of the CEO Merits Awards for the recognition and great job they’re doing for humanity,” Ms. Raad added. “With cohesiveness, good heart, assisting each other, and valuing human dignity, we can make the world a better place for us all.”
Locally, Ms. Pelham-Raad won in 2020 PAMOL’s Impact Maker of the Year Award. The Africa CEO Most Outstanding honoree is also the brand ambassador for firms like SEGAL, AquaLife, and NICOM Distillery. Some other awardees of this year’s edition were; Tonto Dikeh, Ned Nwoko, Nigeria’s Senator, Rochas Okorocha, among others.
Meanwhile, the award show took place at the AFRICA CEO FORUM gala dinner in Abuja on March 26, 2021. Major categories of the award include “African Champion of the Year,”, “Disruptor of the Year,” and “Gender Leader of the Year.” Past winners include the Ethiopian airline, Mohamed El Kettani, Nigerian tech-enabled logistics platform Kobo360, Access Bank’s, and more reputable Africans. Founded in 2012, the AFRICA CEO FORUM serves as a platform for high-level business meetings and a place to share experiences and identify trends that affect the business world, and in 2019 it launched the Africa CEO Network, the most powerful and influential network of business leaders on the continent.
