The head coach of Jubilee FC, William Lartey, says “Jubilee will come back stronger in the pending Liberia Football Association 1st division championship.”
In an interview with this newspaper yesterday, Coach Lartey said the team has built a new squad with young players and assured fans of better performances next season.
“We can assure our supporters that we are going to be a different team next season as one of the major title contenders and one of Liberia’s representatives to CAF competitions,” he said.
Jubilee FC finished in the 7th position out of 12 teams during the previous season after bagging home 30 points out of 22 league games. Jubilee, aka the ‘Church Boys,’ were also knocked out of the FA Cup in the second round after they suffered a 2-0 defeat against third division side Samira FC at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium.
Coach Lartey said his boys have recovered from their previous poor league performances and confident of the new season.
The ‘Church Boys’ resumed practice yesterday ahead of the new season. The build-up to the new LFA league season shows that the season is going to be fascinating as some clubs have signed on promising players.
However, the Jubilee FC coach said he is building the team around players with the ambition to lead the club to becoming a major title contender in the league.
