The International Olympic Committee (IOC) sponsored COVID-19 Awareness Campaign being implemented by the Liberia National Olympic Committee (LNOC) was on Wednesday, March 3, extended to several schools in Sinkor, and Paynesville.
Several schools in the Sinkor belt, including Apostolic Foundation School, Nancy Findley Elementary Memorial School, and AlaCah Memorial Preparatory School, were visited by the awareness team during which time several buckets, cartons of Clorox, packs of nose masks, hand sanitizers, temperature meters, latex gloves and other materials were donated.
During the presentation at the Apostolic Foundation School, Mr. Alphonso Burgess, Vice Principal of the School, thanked the IOC for the donation and said that the school is appreciative of the gesture by them, while at the Nancy Findley Elementary Memorial School, Mrs. Vivian Morgan, Administrator of the school also thanked the IOC for the donation and said that since the existence of the school, this was the first of its kind.
The awareness campaign continued with visitations to the Covenant Nurturing Center on SD Cooper Road, Paynesville, as well as the Bible Way Mission School and the Bethesda Mission School, located on the Robertsfield Highway, with similar preventive materials donated. The donation campaign will continue next week, according to LNOC.
Meanwhile, the COVID Awareness Workshop for Coaches and Administrators from the various Associations and Federations will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2021, at the Apostolic Foundation School in Sinkor. It will be climaxed with a workshop for coaches and administrators of the various Associations at the auditorium of the Batch Resort, Marshall City, Margibi County, on Saturday, March 6.
Additionally, the LNOC says it will kick off its Anti-Doping Campaign on March 13, 2021, with three sessions of the workshop taking place at the Apostolic Foundation School.
