IB Liberia Re-launches ATM with Enhanced Services

Scheduled for MasterCard upgrade by end of 2018

International Bank (IB Liberia) Limited has announced the re-launch of its Automated Teller Machine (ATM) Card services effective September 17, 2018.

According to a statement from IB Liberia, the bank’s ATM services are now available 24 hours a day, seven days a week and, for now, include standard ATM services including cash withdrawal, funds transfer, mini-statement, and balance inquiry. ATM service is currently active for United States Dollars (USD) only.

Beginning October 2018, IB Liberia’s Liberian Dollar (LRD) ATMs will become active, allowing customers to use their ATM cards at both USD & LRD machines.

Currently, IB Customers with Individual (Savings and/or Checking) Accounts can sign up for their IB ATM Card and use the Same Day Service issuance option. For customers who wish for their cards to be personalized, the bank says, the issuance period is 10 working days. For customers who signed up during the Pre-Registration Period, cards are now available for pick up. The sign-up fee per card is only 3 USD with no monthly service charges, rather a charge per transaction of only 50 cents. Customers can link several accounts (both USD & LRD) to the same card, if need be.

“IB is also pleased to inform our valued customers that our ATM services are scheduled to be linked up with national banking system (centralized at the CBL) at which point, IB ATM cards can be actively used at any ATM in Liberia,” the statement said.

The final phase of the project will see IB ATM Cards upgraded to MasterCard by end of 2018, and cards will then be active at any ATM worldwide where MasterCard services are available.

“Currently, our ATMs can be found at our Broad Street, Sinkor, and Paynesville branches. As we continue to expand our network, which includes the scheduled opening of our Ducor Branch next month, our target for 2019 is to provide active ATM services across our branch network.

“Additionally, we encourage customers to sign up for Online Banking, SMS Alerts, and E-Alerts, to enable them monitor their accounts from anywhere. SMS alerts allow for real-time notification of every transaction on your account, and for proper monitoring.

IB (formerly ITC) has been providing banking services in Liberia since 1960. The Bank currently operates in 15 locations around Liberia and was recently recognized as the “Best Commercial Bank of the Year (Liberia)” at the International Banker 2018 Africa Awards in London, UK.
