The National High School Football and Kickball Championship under the auspices of Vice President Ambassador Joseph N. Boakai has reached the final round.
Sixteen high schools will participate in football (FB) and kickball (KB) during the three-day competition from September 29 to October 1 at the BYC sports field in Monrovia.
Vice President Boakai will take the kick-off and later present prizes to the winners.
Participating high schools are Voinjama Multilateral – KB (Lofa); Vonzua A.G.M. – FB (Cape Mount); Brumskine High School – KB (Grand Bassa); N.V. Massaquoi -FB (Bong); P.G. Wolo High School – FB (Grand Kru); St. Joseph Catholic School – KB (Sinoe); M. Nixon Garlo – KB (Grand Gedeh); and Matula Wilson – FB (Grand Gedeh).
Other high schools from Montserrado County: E. Jonathan Goodridge (KB); Nathan E. Gibson (FB and KB); Arthur F. Kula (KB); Victory Chapel (KB); World Wide Mission (FB); First A.G.M. (FB); and St. Simon Baptist (FB).
Participants from the rural areas will arrive on or before today, Thursday, September 28.
The National High School Football and Kickball Championship seeks to promote sports and education as an inseparable component for youth development.
Over four hundred high school teams registered for the tournament. Prior to the commencement of the tournament, each participating high school received two sets of jerseys and two footballs.
