A double Press Union of Liberia award-winner, Nat Bayjay has been appointed by the Government of Liberia through the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism as the Minister Counselor for Press and Public Affairs at the Liberian Embassy accredited near Abuja, the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
According to a MICAT statement signed by Atty. Isaac W. Jackson, Jr. Deputy Minister for Public Affairs, Mr. Bayjay’s appointment was endorsed by President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf.
Mr. Bayjay, a seasoned media practitioner, replaces Ms. Vivian W. Gartayn.
Ms. Gartayn in April of last year requested the Minister of Information (Lewis Brown) to grant her a year’s of leave in order to further her education in Corporate Social Responsibility-Energy.
Mr. Bayjay takes over the post with a wealth of practical and professional media experiences.
Prior to his current appointment, Mr. Bayjay served as a Media Consultant to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Liberia.
He also served as a Senior Reporter/News Desk Chief at the FrontPageAfrica online.
As Minister Counselor for Press and Public Affairs, Mr. Bayjay will, among other tasks, provide media coverage of news related events, provide support in the management of the Liberian Embassy’s website and implement effective media relations.
