Police assigned in Nimba County are searching for a seven year old girl, who went missing on August 7, at the center of Gbar Gwehlay Town in Zoe Gbar Administrative District, Zoe Geh Statutory District, Nimba County.
The girl was said to have gone in search of her mother when she reportedly went missing.
Police sources told this newspaper that the little girl, only identified as Ma Bonwon, left their home in Gbar Zehyeeplay Town early August 7 and went in search for her mother who had left earlier that morning to fetch firewood.
Police in Saclepea quoted some residents of that area as claiming that they saw the little girl going towards Gbar Gwehlay Town and wandering about in tears in search of her mother.
“When she reached the center of Gbar Gwehlay Town,” an eye witness said, “she mysteriously disappeared.”
Efforts by her mother and local authorities to locate her whereabot have failed up to press time last night.
The actual home of this family is in Garr Garblee, around Ganta, the commercial hub of Nimba County. However, recently the father of the missing girl, Patrick Bonwon, was taken to Zehyeeplay town in the same Gbao area for traditional treatment. Mr. Bonwon had suffered from an illness which has left him paralyzed.
The Crime Services Division (CSD) of Liberia National Police Saclepea Detachment has confirmed the incident, but said a house-to-house search is ongoing within the town to find the girl.
Zoe Gbar Administrative District is situated in the central part of Nimba County between Saclapea and Bahn – a Dan or Gio amalgamated district.
