The political leader of the New Liberia Party, Dr. Jallah Allen Barbu, has urged Ganta women to make up their minds and register to vote in the 2017 Presidential and Legislative elections.

Speaking in Ganta recently, Dr. Barbu said the election is coming and many will be coming with empty promises and lies. He warned the women about those “lies” encouraging them to make good decisions that will make the country a good place.

“Make up your mind and register to vote, because if you don’t register, any decision taken will affect every one of us,” he said. “Be mindful and think about what will be the future of young Liberians within the next six years.”

Dr. Barbu, who was accompanied by his wife and other executives of the party, admonished the women “to reject all the lies that people will give and be willing to make sound decisions for the betterment of Liberia.”

However, he did not show them how to recognize what he said would be ‘lies that people will give’.

Barbu encouraged the men to allow their women to learn so that they can make constructive decisions, as he put it, “whatsoever a man can do, women can also do it better.”

“Women don’t keep yourself down and men don’t keep your women down,” he asserted.

Ganta is gradually becoming a political battleground where nearly all the political candidates are making their presence felt.

Dr. Barbu and his entourage were enthusiastically received by the women.

On behalf of the women, Ms Finee Happy extolled the visit of the Dr. Barbu and his entourage and said most politicians prefer citizens to line up the sidewalks to await them, without reaching their localities.

“Dr. Barbu, coming to see where we live or our areas, makes you a trustworthy and caring person,” she said.
