Over 100 persons residing in Grand Kru County will benefit from free surgeries as part of the healthcare delivery of Golden Veroleum Liberia.
The free surgeries will be performed by the Liberia Surgical Outreach Program during the 2nd week of July as part of the GVL festive package to the people in its concession area of Grand Kru County.
GVL Corporate Communications Director, Virgil Magee, presenting the US$6,000 symbolic check to the Liberian Surgical Outreach Program (LISOP) said the free surgeries marked the third initiative of the Company.
“The GVL is pleased to always render basic services to the people of Liberia,” Mr. Magee said.
Dr. Ian B. Pabs-Garnon, on behalf of Dr. Lawrence Sherman, the Executive Director of LISOP said the group is always pleased to partner with GVL to render free surgeries.
He said in Greenville, Sinoe County, 90 patients were treated, 54 male adults, 25 females, including 8 girls.
He said they were over 100 procedures. Frequent cases treated were Hernia, Fibroid (also called uterina myoma) and hydrocele.
Dr. Pabs- Garnon said LISOP has already met the Grand Kru County Legislative Caucus and the health team for their July project and hoped to receive full collaboration.
