Liberian international striker in Greece, Herron Scarla Berrian, has signaled his desire to join Arsenal.
The former IE finisher said he hoped to play for Arsenal “by 2017 if all goes well.”
Known as Scarla, he told sports writers yesterday in Monrovia that he would need to play 75% of Liberia’s international games to get a resident status according to his English agent.
He said Arsenal is a magnificent club among English clubs and would wish to play for the team.
“Through merit, if I can play for my country at least between 8 to 10 of their games I think my English Agent will be happy to do the connection,” Scarla said. “I have instructed my agent carefully. He knows which clubs I want to join, and it’s the Gunners.”
Herron, 20, is currently on loan to PAE Kerkyra from FC Platania. His loan contract, which kicked off January 17, 2014, would end on June 30, 2014.
According to the FC Kerkyra’s website, Herron dribbled fast and well, can kick perfectly with both legs and has aerial ability.
The player told sports writers that since his return to his club, Platanias FC in the Super League, three clubs have shown interest in him.
He named the clubs as Kerkyra FC (his loan club), Paok, Olympiakos and FC Schalke O4.
Earlier, the lad played for Free State Star FC in South Africa; Hamitkoy FC in Northern Cyprus before going to Greece.
The former IE potent striker served as deputy captain of the U-20 Lone Star and had six call-ups, but four caps.
