Farmer inputs distrubution in Nimba

Farmers in Nimba County, especially those involved in the processing of farm produce, are complaining of post harvest losses due to lack of support and markets to sell their products.

Speaking at the distribution ceremony of agro-inputs in Ganta on January 10, 2021, Mr. Boris Barlea, Director of Liberia Farmers Development Corporation, said the lack of support or market is impeding their production.

“We the farmers are faced with post harvest losses because we do not have the market for our commodities,” he said.

“We need more support from the government so we can produce more food at the finishing level,” he said.

LIFADCO, as his organization is called, is involved in helping farmers to better manage and protect their staple crops and livestock through better soil management, water resource management as well as minimizing crop and livestock waste to avoid spoilage, weeds, pests, disease and other threat.

LIFADCO is cultivating cassava production farms in 54 communities in Zoe-Geh, Saclepea Mahn, Tappita and the Gbehlay-Geh districts respectively.

LIFADCO harvested huge quantities of cassava across Nimba, but find it very difficult to find market for their harvest, leaving most of their produce to perish.

Up to present, LIFADCO is processing fufu and flour from cassava in and around Tappita.

For the bee keeping, he said, “We have 30 hives in 10 communities, and out of the 30 hives 21 hives have colonized, while at the same time about 20 snail raising pens have been set up in six communities.

  1. I have noticed of late that whenever the Daily Observer reports on farming or farmers, they must mostly be from Nimba or Lofa.
Where are our brave and strong people of Bong? Have you all started doing vain politics like some of our people who have deserted their counties, living in makeshifts in Monrovia? Wake up my people of Bong! The soil is the surest sources of enrichment.

To the leaders f LIFADCO, know that all the staple crops and livestock produced by your farmers are in high demand on the world and regional markets.
The losses incurred by farmers can undoubtedly be attributed to lack of storage techniques and facilities, derisory per income capita of Liberians and inaccessibility of produce to merchants.

You can help in curbing these losses by either exploring new markets in the Ivory Coast or building storage facilities from which substantial quantity of produce can be packaged and exported abroad. You therefore need qualified international traders and confidential relations with a reputable bank to get things rolling for your organization.

Think about getting the right people and paying them a fair wage to do a professional job for you.
Don’t call on this government, I beg you guys!

  2. A very-well organized system will make a big difference. The producer can not be everything. In many cases, it has never worked.

  3. American News….

To Whom It May concern, especially to the African who lives in West Africa.

Your Trump has been impeached for the second time during his presidency. Trump’s crapola has reached its nadir! That’s precisely why the second impeachment of Trump became bipartisan. A total of 10 courageous Republican lawmakers jettisoned off their ship today in DC in order to close ranks with their Democratic colleagues.

Trump is a low-life insurrectionist and a grand superspreader of fear….

According to reliable sources, a majority of the Republican lawmakers wanted to vote in order to impeach Trump today in Washington DC. But because of death threats from Trump’s henchmen, most Republican lawmakers decided to maintain a low profile and vote against impeachment.

It is hard to believe that a single political demon is so powerful that two-thirds of his partisans are afraid to vote peacefully.

Come 2023, the people of Liberia will fight Trump-style vigilantism from head to toe. That Sub-saharan African or those weak dis-organizers who aspire to rule Liberia will not be allowed to spread divisiveness in the motherland.

  4. To my adorable Grand Frere, Hney

Remember this: “The race is not to the swift or the battle to the strong, nor does food come to the wise or wealth to the brilliant or favor to the learned; but time and chance happen to them all”, Ecclesiastes 9:11.

If the Democrats were sure of victory as professed, why continue to shoot and beat a lame dog or corpse or a dead body, with just 6 days left to go?
Where on earth have you ever heard a sitting president of a powerful country, no matter how demonic he may be, is suspended from Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and all social media? We have some of the gruesome dictators on planet earth who enjoy relative freedom of speech on these media, why Trump?
Food for thought! Open your spiritual eyes, if you a Christian! I know what Trump is going through because I have lived through it with a decent African leader.

Until Joe Biden can be inaugurated on January 20th, it’s fledgling, for me, to proclaim victory. We have 6 more days to go, exactly the number of days the Israelis subdued the coalition of Arab forces that came roaring at the little and young Jewish state to flatten it to rubbles.

Vernon Jones from Georgia just left the so-called winning party, think about it, Grand Frere. Pakistan suffered power outage for sustained period, likewise parts of the Vatican, Germany, California and England. The days of the Color Revolution are numbered; God still sits on His throne!

Remember this, there will be a peaceful transition, as repeatedly promised by Honorable President Trump. Also, know that God raised Trump for this time, and HE shall dwell with him as HE did with Moses when he led the children of Israel out of Egypt.

There will be no stakes in the 2023 elections in Liberia! Victory for the ANC and CPP is a foregone conclusion. Dreams are permissible, but hallucination may be fatal to a drunken folly!

  5. Mr. Defender,
Ecclesiastes 9:11 is powerful. In the simplest of terms, one has to fight in order to get something, especially something that is of good quality. If you play the lottery, you stand a chance to win. If you choose not to play the lottery, you will not win a dime. Simple as that! In the book of Ecclesiastes 9:11, God tells us a few things. We as humans must submit ourselves humbly before Him and ask for guidance. Being faithful, He will deliver to us what is good.

Unfortunately, some people, Trump for instance, has fought (and continues to fight) for the wrong stuff. Trump has no scruples left in him. His closest aides are at odds with him. His demonic actions have made him an isolationist. His refusal to abnegate violence exposes him as a boorish individual.

Question….Mon Petit Frere, what good do you see in Trump? I know that you are a Defender of Weak Liberian Dis-organizers and Weaknesses of all kinds, but your continued defense of Trump the jerk, is not honorable in my humble opinion.

My friends who live around DC are scared. No one knows what could happen approximately six days from now before the inauguration of Biden and Harris. We’re told that National guardsman can be seen in high military gear in the DC area. Why? Because Trump’s supporters are poised to disrupt the induction into office of the gentleman and his teammate who actually won the November 3 election. The US is being made a third world country before our very eyes because of Trump.

    Trump’s suspension from Twitter:
The idea of suspending Trump was phenomenal, well calculated. The Democrats were not responsible. Trump’s outlandish behavior forced Zukerberg and his top brass to do what they did. It was well-deserved. Trump will go down as the worst president.

Finally, God guides the just as well as the unjust. However, the era in which we live is often referred to as the “dispensation of grace” Remember, God’s grace is greater than our sins. If we repent our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive our sins. No one sees that in Trump because he’s apologetic.

Don’t be Trump’s accomplice. His demonic actions of January 6, have caused the deaths of five individuals already. The great country you love is on edge…. all because of Trump and his insurrectionists.

  6. Nope.
The correct spelling of the word I used in the sixth paragraph is “apoplectic”.

I don’t know what “apoplegetic” means. Do you? Well, maybe Trump’s demons did that to me.

  7. Hney:
Question….Mon Petit Frere, what good do you see in Trump?

    Grand Frere,
I see so much good in Trump then bad, but I would delve on what concerns me directly:
    – With Trump, no country was broken down in Africa or anywhere in the world with children and women being displayed for the last 4 years;
    – With Trump, the American economic boom / growth benefited more third world countries;
    – With Trump, loans were not proposed to Africa in exchange for accepting same sex marriage. In fact, Ghana just withdrew from the IMF, it could only happen under Trump;
    – In a nutshell, with Trump, the world knew relative peace and stability.

I am not going to be moved by the mainstream media sensational headlines in any way. During the Black Lives Matter’s protests, 26 black and white people were killed.
At the capitol on January 6, BLM thugs were also caught in the mayhem, please talk about it as well.
In fact, what happened at the Capitol was just the opportunity the deep state was awaiting to oust a legitimate president, since they’ve tried on many occasions to impeach him to no avail.

We must learn to listen to critical and discordant voices sometimes. Vernon Jones (a black man) has switched party, listen to his interview to understand the hypocrisy of the machine unleashed.
Had Trump been an African president, like Laurent GBAGBO, the planes could have been bombing the white house by now.
The success of the Color Revolution in the USA augurs danger for the rest of the world, beware.
But there are 6 more days to go, anything can happen as Trump still controls the nuclear code.

You live in the USA, a country of total freedom, yet supporting the suspension of the twitter account of the president of the USA?
Suppose an African dictator is to repeat similar action towards opposition leaders, what can the USA tell such dictator?
The USA and its’ allies should get ready to received insults from dictators henceforth, as the world’s moral and economic leader has proven to be decadent.

God loves President Trump, I love him too dearly. Trump won the November 3 election. He is a victim of the deep state. I pray for him to stay strong and come back in 2024 with a clearer head to win bigly!

    Salutation, Grand Frere!
