Equity Assurance Limited, one of the leading insurance companies operating in the country, has appointed a new managing director (MD) or chief executive officer (CEO), to steer the affairs of the company into a more brighter and vibrant future.
The new CEO is Mathieu N’Katta, an Ivorian with many years of experience in the insurance industry across the African continent.
Mr. N’Katta, whose appointment was announced over the weekend at the peak of his career, worked as regional expert insurance risk manager, African Subsidiaries in 11 countries as head of the management control and financial management division at Equity Assurance subsidiaries in West Africa.
He later worked at the Millennium Assurances Internationals IARD (SUNU Group-Non-Life Insurance Company, Abidjan) as Chief of Underwriting Department.
The appointment of Mr. N’Katta, according to Equity Assurance Ltd Board Chairman, Steve Kolubah, is part of the ongoing rebranding exercises of the entity.
“This appointment brings to an end the tenure of the entity’s interim leadership,” Mr. Kolubah said at a recent press conference. He expressed gratitude because the appointment of Mr. N’Katta has brought an end to the transition period.
“I want to let you know that we are not only strong as a company, I am also happy to announce to you that Equity Assurance has a new MD,” Kolubah said.
He said that by July, and with the approval from the Central Bank of Liberia, going through the necessary documentation and paper’s filing, the company will be known as SUNU Assurances Liberia Limited.
N’Katta holds a Certificate in Entrepreneurship, Marketing and Managerial Business Administration Management, Marketing, Finance, Human Resource from the Society for Creative Innovations, USA.
He also has a Master Degree in Actuarial Science and Risk Management from the INSTITUT NATIONAL POLYTECHNIQUE FELIX HOUPHOUET BOIGNY in Abidjan. He also served as an underwriter at the Nouvelle d’Assurances Côte d’Ivoire in its technical and commercial department.
